COVID19: Japan Ends Coronavirus Emergency With 850 Deaths and No Lockdown.
COVID19: Japan Ends Coronavirus Emergency With 850 Deaths and No Lockdown.Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has announced the end of his state of emergency declaration for the novel coronavirus pandemic, with just 851 deaths reported and without ever implementing a lockdown.
"I have decided to end the state of emergency across the nation," Abe said during a televised press conference on Monday. "In just over a month and a half, we almost brought (the infection) situation under control."
Abe cautioned that lifting the order did not mean that the novel virus was gone from Japan. "Our battle against the virus will continue," he said, while urging the Japanese people to continue following stringent social distancing guidance.

McDonald's and Pokémon Go.
Companies are cashing in on the frenzy of the pokemon go players to make sales and expand their brand. Many companies are trading with pokemon go spike to grow their sales and consumer base.
Pokémon Go's first sponsored location in Japan will be will be McDonald's -Japanese site Excite News reports that the fast food chain will be partnering with Pokémon Go developer Niantic on the game's debut in the land of the rising sun.
The possibility of sponsored locations in Pokémon Go to help monetise the free-to-play game was reported last week. Developer Niantic has yet to confirm details, but the scheme would likely see stores and brands paying a fee to be able to offer rare items or Pokémon, enticing players to visit and, hopefully, spend with them.
McDonald's Japan has also declined to provide details on what the partnership will entail, only saying it is collaborating with Niantic to ensure the launch goes smoothly. An earlier leak suggests the 3,000+ restaurants across the country could serve as special Gyms where trainers can battle.
The size and importance of a partnership with McDonald's can't be understated, though. Japan has the largest number of restaurants for the brand outside of the US, creating a huge portal to expose the game in. Ironically enough, the attention that partnering with McDonald's could bring to the mobile game may have cooled Niantic's boots on when to actually launch. See more
Pokémon Go launches in Japan and servers immediately crash.
Nintendo has finally launched Pokémon Go in Japan, the birthplace of the now ubiquitous game – but the already unstable servers appear to have crashed under all the weight. Niantic Labs, the developers behind the game, announced it was "finally broadcasting" in Japan. The game was first released on July 6 in the US, Australia and New Zealand and has been rolling out globally since.
The Japanese launch was reportedly delayed as it firmed up a sponsorship deal with McDonald's. Japanese site Excite News reports the fast food chain is partnering with Pokémon Go developer.

BLUE FIN TUNA IN JAPAN.
( courtesy ;internet).
Most tuna farming in Japan involves catching young tuna in the wild and cultivating them in coastal reserves – a practice that experts believe has contributed to plummeting populations of small fish. Kinki University, however, prides itself on a method it calls “complete cultivation”, in which the fish are artificially raised from egg to adulthood before the larvae are then used to start a new cycle.
Experts involved in the project say they still have a long way to go before they can farm enough tuna to meet demand. The survival rate for newly hatched fry is low, and rearing tuna in captivity requires vast areas of coastal water.
Shigeru Miyashita, of the university’s fisheries laboratory, said the rate at which researchers had successfully raised bluefin from egg to adult – without using any fish caught in the wild – had improved over the years. “Through the complete aqua-farming of bluefin tuna, we hope to help ensure the stability of the world’s marine resources,” Miyashita said. “But to make 10,000 tonnes of farmed adult tuna you need 1.6m fry. The other problem is space. Wild Pacific bluefin have the whole ocean to swim in, but we have to raise them in a confined area.
The university’s project received a boost at the end of last year when it joined forces with Toyota Tsusho, the trading arm of the Japanese carmaker, to begin the mass farming of bluefin tuna hatchlings at a site in Goto, south-western Japan.
We started this project because we were concerned about the future of the bluefin tuna. Japanese people love tuna – we now want to encourage them to eat ours instead of the wild variety.”

HYDROPONICS AND FOOD SECURITY.
Benefits of hydroponics.
1) There is no need for soil means more food can be grown on less land, this is ideal for a growing, urbanizing global population.
2) Yields can be up to 10 times more than from open field agriculture.
3) The water used can be recycled.
4) Farms can be anywhere, from skyscrapers to shipping containers.
5)Pollution from pesticides and herbicides can be prevented.
6)Local production reduces food miles and transportation costs.

A tech firm Fujitsu , at its Aizu Wakamatsu factory in central Japan is applying cloud-based data analytic s to the production of low-potassium lettuce and spinach. The operation takes place in a dust-free "clean-room" formerly used for semiconductor production.
Fujitsu's cloud platform - Akisai - stores and analyses data from lots of sensors in the greenhouses, and enables heating units, ventilation fans and other equipment to be operated remotely."In terms of quality, we have applied the same industrial perspective from semiconductor manufacturing to vegetable cultivation," a Fujitsu spokesman tells the BBC.
"Having a control structure that keeps product specifications - the weight and nutrient constituent-parts of lettuce - within a defined range, makes for effective high added-value vegetable production."
The company sells the lettuce it produces to hospitals, supermarkets, and hotels - as well as online - and says its cloud service is collecting valuable data that is leading to improved quality and higher yields. Fujitsu's insights and efficiency improvements could also encourage more producers to enter the market and "lead to an increase in younger generations getting into agriculture", the spokesman adds.

JAPAN BANS POULTRY IMPORTS FROM FRANCE.
Japan, the largest importer of French foie gras, bans poultry imports after bird flu outbreak in Dordogne;China, South Korea, Thailand, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia have banned French poultry imports and several other countries are considering doing so, according to Loïc Evain of the French agriculture ministry.
Containment and protection measures are in force within a six-mile radius of the three farms affected near the village of Biras, between Périgueux and Brantôme.
Entire flocks have been culled. About 1,000 geese and 14,000 ducks were electrocuted earlier this week in special trucks so the dead birds can be removed with minimum contamination. The farms are still being disinfected.

EGGS! EGGS!! EGGS!!! AND ATOVI.
Chicken raised with atovi premix lay for longer periods, eggs are big with thick shells and best of all no antibiotics. The immune system is enhanced so they dont succumb to bacteria, viruses or fungi infection. The feed is properly metabolized and absorbed resulting in proper utilization of feed with no undigested protein in feces resulting in odorless waste. The result is less consumption of feed with rapid growth of birds , and attainment of market weight faster.
Eggs are essential for growth and development especially in children, buy eggs that give nutrients and add value.
USE ATOVI PREMIX.
EGGS AND ANTIBIOTIC RESIDUE.
Antibiotic residue in animal by products such as eggs are a global concern especially with the "superbugs effect".The process of rearing animals on a commercial level has come under attack because of the impact on the health of man.The production process from farm to table is laced with use of antibiotics ,growth hormones and anticoccidial drugs, which impact negatively on the consumers.
Antibiotic residue in animals has been identified as the key factor for proliferation of antibiotic resistant bacteria resulting in several deaths especially in children and women. The residues in animal tissues have also been fingered as the reason for increase cases of obesity, diabetes, cancer ,kidney and liver diseases and early attainment of sexual maturity in children.
The additives in animal feed with its negative impact on health has been a debate and several countries opting out of the use, with many buying animals reared only on home grown feed, more and more people buying organic products and very many others purchasing from farmers/organizations with better production method. The rearing of animals can be a mind bogging experience if the proper management technique are not employed, and products churned out will definitely be different. Eggs; a major by-product from poultry has come under scrutiny with many scholars advocating the incorporation into diet and some others criticizing this because of " cholesterol" level but the fact is "an egg a day does keep the doctors away."
Eggs are of immense benefits, they provide the body with essential vitamins and minerals e.t.c( read more about egg benefits at google.com/+BolanleOjuri)
The eggs produced from chicken raised on antibiotic laden techniques cannot deliver any nutrient to the consumer, rather its a vehicle for antibiotic resistant bacteria to proliferate. An egg is really not an egg on its own, rather an egg is the sum total of what you feed your chicken, hence your practice impacts your products.
Chicken raised with Atovi premix have the following benefits; the poultry house has no foul odor, the chicken are big without fat and skin is smooth and crispy, the eggs are bigger with thick shells and no antibiotic residue. The atovi ensures natural detoxification and expulsion of harmful compounds such as synthetic drugs, natural poison and antibiotics on cellular level which ensures that eggs and poultry are free of residues. The digestive system is energized and it ensures proper absorption of nutrient and total utilization which results in odorless waste due to absence of undigested protein in the feces.
The birds have greater stamina, they dont succumb to diseases because of there energized cells that enhances their immune system. Farms where Atovi is used have zero cost on medication which is a real advantage especially in outbreak cases of bird flu,the birds wont contract the virus. Eggs are essential for development especially for children so ensure you are buying eggs of chicken raised without antibiotics.

A.T.O.V.I
Feeding our livestock is so important, because what we feed our animals has an effect on the consumers. The side effect of antibiotics in feed cannot be overemphasized, the superbug effect is a major problem, hence morw and more people are moving into new realms of production, using wholesome ingredients for the livestock.
The advent of healthy living, weight loss programs and healthy life style forums, more and more people are making better choices; such as buying organic products, eating animal products from pastured animals and consuming animal by-products of animals raised without antibiotics. This is the major reason for using pre/probiotics in feed instead of antibiotics. ATOVI,has been proven to aid growth of livestock ,prevent diseases and enhance bigger eggs, better feed conversion ratio. ATOVI ,can be used in all animal types with no side effects.
Feeding livestock accounts for a larger percentage of cost of production in animal husbandry,it also determines the quality and quantity of expected by-products. Animal feed are usually fortified with growth promoters, antibiotics and anticoccidials,to ensure that the animals produce at a higher rate, grow faster to attain market weight early and to prevent diseases. The inclusion of all these medication in feed increases the cost of feed, reduces the shelve-life of the feed and it has a potential to impact the human health in a negative way as a result of antibiotic residue in the by-products.
The global concern of antibiotic residue in animal by- products resulting in antibiotic resistance in man has sparked a lot of action, with more and more people pushing for regulations to restrict these inclusions in animal feed, others avoid such products, many purchase products from animals raised on organic feed/ those raised on home grown feed. This has led to a lot of research on better feeding methods of animals; these include exclusion of chemicals from feed, vaccinating animals as opposed to feed medication and inclusion of certain premixes in feed to enhance the immune system. Atovi premix is a blend of minerals and vitamins added to animal feed without any side effect in man.
The premix blended with the feed enhances the immune system thus preventing diseases in animals. The premix increases the growth rate ,livability of animals thus preventing loss due to mortality, higher production rate due to better absorption of feed ,reduces time of molting thus the laying period is extended with more egg production of bigger sizes. The beef/chicken/pork produced has a homegrown taste, its juicy, without cholesterol with high carcass percentage. The use of ATOVI powder actually lowers cost of production because the animals consume less feed ,the fecal matter is reduced and its odorless. The inclusion of atovi powder in animal feed is not limited to few species, all animals benefit including fish& rabbit .It is also used on crops. The ATOVI powder, has a counterpart in human medicine referred to as MITOGEN AND MITO MALUNGGAY capsules and used as supplements to boost immune system and cure several diseases.

COCCIDIOSIS; VACCINATION A BETTER OPTION.
Coccidiosis is an intestinal disease affecting birds, its caused by a protozoan parasite of the genus EIMERIA. There are various species of eimeria affecting different segments of the intestine. The parasite is introduced to the flock by ingestion of the oocyst from dropping of infected birds, contaminated litter and bedding. The protozoan parasite effects on intestines results in poor feed utilization and malabsorption due to damage of intestinal lining. The damage to intestinal lining predisposes the birds to cross infection by Clostridium perfringens, which causes necrotic enteritis.
The economic implication of coccidiosis on poultry production can be overuled simply by vaccinating birds at day one. This stimulates development of natural immunity against eimeria. This early exposure confers protection on the birds so that the intestinal health is maintained, which ensures that feed consumed is properly absorbed and utilized.
Feeding accounts for 75% of cost of production in poultry, it is of pertinent importance that factors that will increase the cost should be avoided. Disease control/ prevention and management protocols should be well planned with strict compliance.
Coccidiosis is a global issue and strategies have evolved over the years on management of the disease, vaccination of the flock has been adduced the most effective. Vaccination of birds coupled with moisture management in litters plays a significant role in prevention of coccidiosis. The production of drug-free animals for human consumption has further tipped vaccination as a better option to prevent coccidiosis in poultry.
The campaign of no antibiotics and anticoccidials in poultry feed has been incorporated in Japan with the CP Bangkok producing drug-free birds.Dr Kreeta Khanti, a veterinarian and senior vice president stated that 1/2 of the 60 million broiler chicken produced annually by the Charoen Pokphand's poultry operation are now raised without antibiotics and anticoccidials. The company has stated that vaccinating for coccidiosis is a better option,it allows production of drug-free birds without sacrificing weight gain, conversion or profitability. The option of vaccination adds more value to their products and premium price on their products.
The consumers today are much more concerned about what they eat,how the products are produced, handled stored and packaged. This awareness has made people kick against unwholesome products and opt in for organic foods/ antibiotic-free animal by products.
Animal health is indeed human health.

BIRD FLU.
AVIAN INFLUENZA; BIRD FLU. The highly pathogenic influenza virus is rearing its head in certain countries around the world and ravaging the poultry industry,
Avian influenza virus affects birds such as chickens, turkeys, pheasants, water ducks, parrots, partridges, emus, quails and ostriches, although the susceptibility to virus varies as some birds show more fulminating signs(chickens) and others sub clinical signs(water ducks). The virus can survive outside the host for a considerable time.
The route of the infection has been linked to migratory birds which harbor the virus with no clinical signs, their droppings contaminated pond of the water fowls, these pick the virus and their contact with other birds enhance the spread .
The mode of spread: is from bird to bird by contact with secretions, dropping and contaminated bedding. Vehicles, equipment and tools also facilitate spread.Personnel moving between farms, abattoirs and poultry markets also facilitate spread, hence BIO SECURITY measures must be adhered to strictly on farms.
The avian influenza virus strikes resulting in sudden increased mortality, however these are signs of BIRD FLU.
1) Ruffled feathers.
2)soft shelled eggs,
3)depression and drowsiness.
4)loss of appetite.
5)bluish combs.
6)green diarrhoea.
7)in coordination/paralysis.
8)hemorrhaging on feet and shank.
9}blood tinged discharge from nostrils.
10)respiratory difficulties.
11) edema of comb, wattles and eye lids.
The above signs many poultry farmers can relate to because some other conditions also exhibit some of the signs, these leads them to vaccination, treatment after culling some birds. This is where the problem lies, the first step should be for you to take log of activities for the last 2 weeks; what came in?, what activities were out?,who came in?,which standard operations procedure did you or did you not perform?.while you take log of your activities, restrict movement to your farm, dispose dead birds promptly, give your birds vitamins in water and call your vet.

BIRD FLU.
The bird flu saga continues, as the virus has been identified in birds in backyard poultry in Washington state and Oregon. The highly pathogenic strain has been identified in broiler chicken and turkeys in BC,Canada. The viral infection has led to culling of 42000 birds in Japan as @ 30/12/14, leading to banning of poultry products and birds originating from japan. The banning of poultry products has also extended to the U.S.A as some countries have opted out of importing from them.
A second wave of infection has been reported in Washington state, in a farm near the foci infection, and this has been traced to some ducks moved from the foci of infection to this new farm. The 2 farmers are friends so they exchange birds, without knowledge that the ducks had the virus, leading to sudden deaths of birds in this new farm.
This has prompted the UTAH,U.S. agric and wildlife authorities to issue a bird flu alert to back yard poultry farmers in the state; advising them to increase their bio security measures. The Utah state is on course of a migratory bird route, thus they enjoined farmers to keep wild birds away from poultry.
BIRD FLU UPDATE; based on the flu infection in some parts of the world, the most logical thing will be to be pro active and step up bio security in our farms.
BIO SECURITY; the following actions are advised.
1) Restrict movement to your farms.
2)Make a full strength of bleach- water solution and use as foot dips, tyre wash, use in drains ,also use to clean surfaces in the farm.
3)Dont bring in birds from unknown sources, and dont transfer birds between farms.
4) keep poultry away from wild birds and water fowl.
5) Report any case of sudden high motalities in your birds.
Be alert and sensitive; step up bio security.
