Specializing in one or 2 breeds will stand the breeder out as focused and dedicated. One of the many reasons why breeding dogs can be beneficial is due to specialized breeding.
Selective breeding is all about keeping a particular line active in your kennel. The purposeful selected dogs with the intention to produce, preserve, or remove specific physical characteristics, mental traits, health conditions, skills, and aptitudes to perform specific tasks. This practice can be done naturally and selectively.
If you use specialized breeding, you produce dogs that show the desired traits and remove unwanted genetic traits.
Originally, dogs were adopted and domesticated in order to be useful, so specialized breeding is meant to also reinforce specific skills from a given dog. The breeding of dogs to enforce a skill that is prevalent in a breed has been used for years and is of great benefit.
All specialized breeds that help the world around them, all thanks to a skill and trait that was seen in their breed, and reinforced through selective breeding..
The German Shepherd, Golden Retriever, and Border Collie have all benefited from this specialized breeding over hundreds of years so that they are now excellent at their jobs.
Choosing to breed a specialized dog will reinforce these positive traits and improve skills in the breed if the breeding program is carried out correctly and safely.

AGRIBUSINESS : One way to reduce food waste is to use it to make soil healthier. Imagine that one-third of cars manufactured by Ford or GM were never even driven once, but instead were left to rust and ended up in landfills. This exact situation is true today in agriculture, where up to 40 percent of food produced every year in the United States is never eaten.
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the United States generates over 39 million tons of food waste yearly. Strawberries rot on the vine for lack of labor to pick them. Food spoils during transport, at the grocery store or in our homes. More is lost during processing, due to inefficiencies and lack of markets for byproducts. AGRIBUSINESS : One way to reduce food waste is to use it to make soil healthier.
Food waste contains valuable nutrients that can make soil healthier and more productive. A research group at Colorado State University is working with Leprino Foods, a global supplier of dairy products, to explore the potential for transforming lactose – the natural sugar in milk – into a resource that can enhance agricultural sustainability.
Manufacturing dairy products generates large amounts of leftover natural materials, including lactose. Currently the dominant market for lactose is for baby formula, but companies like Leprino produce more lactose than the formula market demands. Rather than sending the rest to landfills, they partnered with our team at Colorado State University to explore potential agricultural uses for it.

AGRIBUSINESS : How a startup kicked off with popcorn business to raise money for cancer research. When Her Mother Was Diagnosed With Breast Cancer, She Started a Popcorn Company to Raise Money for Research. There was only so much waiting around Lauren Mariel could do after she received the devastating news that her mother had been diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer.
"Through the first two weeks of treatments, I'm sitting there and I'm like, 'What am I doing?'" she said of that time in 2013. "I know she appreciates it, but I'm doing nothing for my mom or women who every single day are diagnosed with breast cancer." AGRIBUSINESS : How a startup kicked off with popcorn business to raise money for cancer research.
Mariel's solution? Start a business. At a young age, Mariel's mother taught her and her sisters how to make popcorn, which quickly became a family favorite. Mariel figured that'd she'd just make some popcorn, slap a label on a bag and raise some money for cancer research and other causes. But this modest endeavor took off, and now Mariel's popcorn brand Live Love Pop can be found in more than 10,000 U.S. and Canada stores, with sales doubling year over year, she said. A portion of sales from each of Live Love Pop's six flavors are donated to different causes.

AGRIBUSINESS: An Entrepreneur Quickly Grew His Chickpea Pasta Company by Being Scrappy and Bold . Brian Rudolph said he had a pretty simple realization about four years ago: The 23-year-old didn't have to launch a technology company.
Instead, he figured that he could create a company around a homemade pasta he had been making out of chickpeas, since regular pasta hurt his stomach. So in 2014 he partnered with his brother Scott and launched Banza, where he had the chance to employ many of the tactics used in the tech industry.
Banza, which says its products have "double the protein, four times the fiber and nearly half the net carbs" compared to typical pasta, has proven to be a success. A year after its launch, the product landed on store shelves, and it was named one of 2015's best inventions by Time Magazine. The brand can now be found in 10,000 U.S. stores, including Target, Walmart and Whole Foods.
This Snack Company Grew Quickly Out of a Dorm Room After It Sold Its Products to Tech Companies
.This Snack Company Grew Quickly Out of a Dorm Room After It Sold Its Products to Tech Companies. Rip Pruisken, co-founder of snack maker Rip Van Wafels, runs his company like a technology maker: constantly trying to iterate and improve on the original product.
"Technology is developing quickly, but food is also a form of technology," he says. “If something was invented 70 years ago, that's great, that's awesome, but you have to improve upon it."
It's not like his company's products, a wafer-like cookie based on Dutch treats called stroopwafels, need to be improved. Rip Van Wafels is already sold in 12,000 stores, including Fairway and Starbucks, as well as available in the kitchens of big tech firms, including Square. But Pruisken won't rest on Rip Van's six successful years of business.
"There's so many brands and there's so much innovation,” he says. "The idea is to basically launch every two years a healthier product but still maintain the taste and design."
