GARC: Rabies surveillance workshop, the one health approach.

 

GARC participating in the "Rabies Surveillance Workshop: One Health Approach towards Rabies elimination in Namibia" workshop. The meeting has been arranged by WOAH, in collaboration with various local stakeholders.

Dr Nehemia Hedimbi (DVS, Namibia) demonstrates the outputs of the RVT tool to the workshop participants. Human and animal health professionals used the GARC surveillance tools to capture information using case studies. The exercise allowed users to experience the tools, but also learn what data the other sectors routinely collect.

The Association of Masters Bakers and Caterers of Nigeria, Edo chapter, has called for the revival of cassava-bread initiative to reduce dependency on wheat flour. Agbonze said that the Federal Government needed to put machinery in place to revive the policy on cassava -bread production to reduce the rising cost of bread in the country.
