One world one health.
One world one health, the American veterinary medical association describes it as " the collaborative efforts of multiple disciplines working locally.,nationally and globally to attain optimal health for people, animals and our environment".
One world one health.(owoh)
One world one health, simply put, animal health is human health. Why is there an increase awareness about links between animal and human health? The reason is simple, there are emerging diseases which are zoonotic, the most recent is highly pathogenic avian influenza(HPAI). The causes of this links include, changes in ecosystem, forest encroachment, rapid urbanization, and international trading in animal products.
The rapid response team
The rapid response team(rrt), this comprise of a veterinarian, a medical officer,a nurse, a medical epidemiologist, a laboratory epidemiologist,a wild life expert and an environmetal officer. This team has the sole objective to curtail emerging diseases and to proffer solution when there is an incidence. The rrt has a leader of the team and all members have defined responsibilites. The rrt is the result of the one world, one health collaboration.
