Gumboro fever.
Hi, about two months ago, there was an alarm about gumboro in badagry, nigeria, hey i checked it out, there is no cause for alarm. Gumboro, what is that?.it is a viral infection of chicks, occurs at age 3-6weeks. The birds are sleepy, whitish diarhoea. The key to gumboro is its pattern, it strikes, the mortality reaches its peak at day 5 and drops by day 10.gumboro is a viral infection hence vaccination is very impt in poultry,if it strikes you can only avoid stress and sanitize the environment to kill the virus,as for the birds u can only give antibiotics to prevent secondary bacterial infection as the birds immunity is reduced. Birds are fragile, vaccinate them so as to make profit.
